Sumyshchyna remains the area where the enemy is most actively trying to use sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRG).
Andrii Demchenko, the spokesman of the State Border Service, said this at a briefing at the Ukraine-Ukrinform Media Center.
"The most active direction, where the enemy continues to use its DRGs, remains Sumyshchyna. Previously, there was activity in the Kharkiv region as well, but recently it has decreased. In Chernihiv Oblast, the activity of enemy DRGs is also not recorded. But the Sumy region is a priority for them. Because in fact, several enemy DRGs are exposed during the week," he said.
Earlier in Sumy Oblast, border guards who were performing a combat mission on one of the directions of the state border were ambushed by the enemy DRG. A shooting battle ensued between the Ukrainian defenders and the enemy's DRG, which numbered more than a dozen people.
On April 18, there was a report that the occupiers are most actively using their sabotage and reconnaissance groups in Sumy Oblast.
Recently, border guards stopped another Russian subversive and reconnaissance group of invaders in Sumy Oblast.
Also, on April 15, a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group tried to enter Ukraine from its territory. The border guards of the Sumy Oblast repelled the DRG attack.
